Not a problem. I spent a good few days panicking because I never trimmed the inner timing cover. Only to realize that I had taken a picture of it, and it turned out to be the inner cover you do not have to trim. Was a huge relief.

Thats not always the case.

IF there is no center hole on the inner timing cover then you must cut a hole.

ELSE IF your timing cover looks like this:

then you do not have to do any cutting or trimming

Their testing is bunk anyways. 1 they are testing a car in a stationary position. With no air passing over the filter how is it supposed to get any cooler air? 2 They tested all this on a high performance car. Which most likely has a very well designed air intake system. So there is little to no ben...

I'm glad I stumbled upon this thread. Def. help with some tire wear head aches. I'd like to go up too...

Ticking on a cold SOHC is usually either lifter tick, or piston slap. Most of the time for me anyways is subsides when warm and is very much helped by a fresh oil change.

The idle issue I would say is not related, but needs to be addressed obviously. check your vacuum lines.

I rented a front end tool kit from O'reillys http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x281/chef_mike2003/null_zps8815644f.jpg My intention was to use this piece http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x281/chef_mike2003/null_zps4d00e519.jpg ...

Does the nose lessen or almost go away when you turn left or right? And what you saw about "What it takes" isn't very accurate. They make on the car FWD wheel bearing presses so you can replace the wheel bearing without removing the knuckle. http://www.harborfreight.com/fwd-front-wheel-bearing-adapt...

I say tear the engine down and have your machinist inspect the block to see how out of round the cylinders are. If it is in good shape and just needs a hone then that's money saved on your end. If it needs to be bored to be round again then your machinist will be able to tell you what over-sized pis...

That all depends on your class rules and or if it would move you to another class becasue of the wheel change. From what I know you should be able to run 15x6 wheels on your 2gn since they come with 15's. This would give you a much better tire selection.

To add to what Chew* said "Air/fuel mix (and/or exhaust charge) is a fluid so it helps to think of the process as water flowing through a pipe. Any fluid in motion has mass x velocity = inertia. So far so good. With a NA engine you use the inertia of the exhaust gas flowing down the ex pipe to 'pull...

So I finally replaced the head, head gasket, timing belt and water pump over the past few days. The only thing I have left if to put the crank pulley on, the alt and PS belts. But who ever told you a stock Magnum head outflows a ported DOHC head is a moron. I have heard that a Magnum head outflows a ported SOHC head, but that is also untrue
