Turns out my rear left wheel bearing was beyond shot, and I kept assuming the noise was coming from the front bearing. Threw in a new one, and used a torque wrench on it so I know it's tightened right. So far so good.

The new hub and the new (bad) bearing are both on the left side.

If it makes any difference, when we pulled out the last bearing it had squirted grease all over the axle shaft

He has been pressing them correctly. I really dont doubt him since he is a fabricator by trade and builds race cars in his spare time, none of which have this issue. The ground strap is indeed broken. I dont see how that would affect a bearing but i will get that taken care of. And i'll try to get a...

eating wheel bearings, need help

About a year ago I bought an 02 SXT Neon with 244,000 miles. It now has 251,000 on it. It needed both front wheel bearings done, so a friend of mine installed a pair of MasterPro bearings from O'Reilly. Those lasted a couple months but then both started howling. Pulled them both out and they were bo...

Thanks for the insight. I got a pm about a lead on an mfs for sale on here already.

Another question - can I get front and rear seats out of any second gen and be able to drop them in?

Heh, well so far it's got broken fog lights and a broken turn signal lens. The high beams don't work, it feels like the switch isn't engaging. There just isn't that familiar click when I pull on the stalk. The door pull on the driver side is ripped off, and it's got some rust forming around a tail l...

neon noob

hey all, I just picked up my first neon, its an 02 red SXT mtx with 242,000 miles on it. I got it in need of a timing belt and a couple valves. A mechanic friend took care of that and now I'm trying to find info on all the other little problems its got. As for me, I'm a moderator on columbusracing.c...

First post! I hope I caught this before you get here. The area to go to depends on what you are looking to do. If you want to go somewhere nice, head up to Polaris. If you are into the bar scene, High Street down town is where to go. If you want somewhere inbetween, go to Easton. I've not explored t...
