the clockspring is the rotating wire loom assembly that sits between the wheel and the rest off the steering column. It's what allows the wires leading up the column to stay attached to your horn, cruise control (if applicable) and airbag while the wheel is being rotated. The connector on 03+ airbag...

you should be able too use the passenger side air bag, as I believe there was little change there over the years but, for the steering wheel to use both wheel and airbag you will have to swap the clockspring over to the 01 clockspring. Let another member verify this for us first. Hope that helps. :t...
