Re: MyNeonSaysHi Mod Log: Stone White

Also thinking about having the timing belt done. Its coming on 14 years old and has the original belts. But seems wasteful at such low miles. Had a friend do the original timing belt on an 03 I had like 4-5 years ago and it looked completely fine when he took it off. Meh, the only risk is it leavin...

Re: MyNeonSaysHi Mod Log: Stone White

Thanks man. Car has been in the garage for over a month with the battery disconnected under a car cover. It rained its butt off on Saturday. and melted most of the snow. Roads were clear on Monday with light salt and it got up to like 40 degrees. So I drove the Neon to work. Took the long way. Was s...

Re: 10mm Spacers

Get a proper sized wheel with offset and no spacers will be needed. I prefer no spacers. "While it is possible to use 3mm wheel spacers with factory wheel studs, it is recommended for your safety that longer wheel studs be used. 5mm & 8mm wheel spacers should not be used with factory wheel studs, as...

Re: Help me to pick a new car

Weird to have the date bought on the tag. I know KS has 60 day temp tags so say if you bought it 1/19/2019 the tag will say 3/19/2019. Missouri is just 30 day tags. So it would say 2/19/2019. I am sure they offer tunes for them too, but that would affect the warranty and the reliability of it. I thi...

Re: 2003 SRT DD

Yeah I never seen a knuckle with the hub and bearing brand new. Sorry you are having issues with your car man. But the older these cars get the more issues to face. Especially if it has high miles like yours, lots of original parts that need replaced.

The game sucks I heard. But I got 30 free days of Amazon Prime so I watched the first 3 episodes of the 3rd season of the Grand tour. Love it!

Not sure how much truth is to this. But love the speculation LOL

nice way to block the rust out haha. Looks like its coming out of that boost clip area on the inside. Unless it is rubbing on that mound of grease over your control arm. Hopefully that wasn't there before you installed the new half shaft

Re: Help me to pick a new car

Looks like the same color as your Neon in your sig. Congrats on the new car. They look nice. I personally would stay away from a VW unless it had a warranty which yours does. Did you end up trading the Civic in? You will always get more money selling a car privately. What year is that? Here is one l...

Re: Midnight_Rider's progress log

Not trying to pry, but why do you stop driving it in October? You are in Indiana, the weather stays pretty good out there in October :?: Is it just routine to stop driving it a certain day? Ever think about buying another used SRT-4 to drive during the poor weather months to hold you over?

Re: Midnight_Rider's progress log

When was the last time you drove your car midnight? Not sure how you can go so long without driving it! Just about 2 weeks here and I miss it already. Having a cover over it in the garage and not going in the garage helps though. So I forget about it.

Re: 2003 SRT DD

Aaaaaand now the car is vibrating during acceleration. Surefire sign of a bad axle. It's minor, but it's noticeable. Maybe these Trakmotive axles aren't so good after all. Fuck. Damn that sucks. I hear good things about Gator Axles and that theya re good for around 400wtq. That Chris Mimikos (sp) w...

Re: MyNeonSaysHi Mod Log: Stone White

Not much new going on with the Neon. We got about 8 inches of snow on Friday night. I luckily got to drive it a couple times to work prior to the storm since I knew bad weather was coming. Its all cleaned up and under the car cover in the garage with the battery disconnected. Will probably be a whil...

I edited. I meant front STRUT bar not SWAY bar. Yeah wouldn't fit, same DC one too. I made a thread on srtforums on it a while back.

You plan on dipping your RPF1's another color? Yeah, can't go wrong with the factory silver. Do that boost leak test! :)

Doing work! Not sure if you got the silver coated turn signal bulbs for the headlights but I recommend them. I just don't like that orange glow. Yikes! I was afraid of that happening when I did my drivers side axle seal on my silver srt-4. I was trying to figure out where to pry to pop the bugger out. Luckily I didn't pry the innards. Great photo though for others to know where to pry. Hopefully it doesn't leak with that new mopar seal in th...

plan on painting that fuel rail cover like black or red? Looks out of place being silver. Could just be the rectangular cutout of it. dig the ACR cutout/decal...

Re: 2003 SRT DD

Funny this happened to me when doing my coilovers. Was a PITA Supposedly it only happens if you have one corner up. But I had the entire front end up. I lucked out and it didn't tear the boot. You are supposed to undo the sway bar endlinks and that releases tension on the control arm so the control ...

Yeah really pisses me off. I am in the union and I hate how corrupt a lot of them are and not knowing where all my union dues are going. I do work in a "right to work state" But I don't want to be considered a "scab" if I leave the union. talk about having your world turned upside down.

Re: MyNeonSaysHi Mod Log: Stone White

I sure wish that I could do something like that. Other than the two attempts at the autocross at Carlisle several years ago, I've never had an opportunity to drive my car anywhere but a public street. http://putnampark.com/ You should see if they are open to the public. Looks like a nice course! 35...
