Couldn't hurt to check on it. Just take it out and test it. Make sure its not stuck open or closed

Your probably burning oil. Over time your piston rings wear and the seal it creates isn't as good so oil slowly gets into the combustion chamber. Also could be from your pcv being bad. Wen did you replace it last?

Isn't much diff between a 16 valve sohc and a 16 valve dohc performance wise anyway. Maybe the stock heads flow different but if you built either one the only difference is where in the rpm you get power. Or at least that's what I've read.

That would b a huge boost leak if its your intake gasket and I would think that would keep you from gettin much if any boost. All that pressure is escaping through the leak instead of goin in the engine
