I want to see pictures of my Daytona with 11 effing people in it. I've waited so looong! Gonna register it as a Neon too hahaha Hey I've registered the Daytona as a Neon, and the Neon as a Daytona before (2008 and 2007 respectively). Jason could probably hook you up with some vinyl decals if you wan...

Dammit, I stood in the pouring rain while this car was turbo'd! That's a terrible fate for a car with that much work into it. Glad you're ok, and good luck in the donor hunt.

Looks like I'm in. Sucks that my wife has to work though. You guys need anything else? And for those of you who see me at Carlisle every year and still don't believe I own a Neon, I'll prove it to you Saturday. The rear suspension in the Daytona didn't like when I loaded it up with camping gear and ...

I looked up directions (from Providence area) and it says to take I-95 to exit 82. The directions on the state park website say to take exit 69. That's a pretty big difference. Anybody know the area well enough to confirm either?

Although I've never run the stock air box in my car, when I look at mine (I still have all the stock parts), it seems like the ribbed bellows tube is the only part that looks like it would mess with airflow. I'd like to see a comparison of the stock intake with a smooth bellows tube replacement vers...

Yeah, sounds like the bearing to me. Usually I've seen them develop a hum when the pedal is pressed, but I haven't come across a screeching noise like you describe.

I cringe to think that the screeching noise is a seized or intermittently seized bearing scoring up the pressure plate fingers.

Bummer. I guess I'll just leave the existing fluid in there. The trans was replaced at the dealership in 2005, so I know it's ATF+4.

Had original trans oil in mine since it was built, never changed in 11 years. I swapped it for Redline .... didnt notice any difference whatsoever and no leaks When you say you didn't notice any difference, was there no difference in shift quality or anything? That's actually why I'm considering ch...

Redline MTL - overly paranoid

Hey all, I've got about 135k miles on my trans and I'd like to put Redline MTL in there. It's still running ATF+4 at the moment. Here's my worry: this is my every damn day car. I've had problems in the past with older engines that have had non-synthetic lubricants in them for a lot of miles, then le...

I think there's a way to remove that entire arm from the top of the transmission. I can't seem to find a good picture of it though. If you can remove that arm, you can either replace it, or if you're handy in a machine shop, make a new stud and attach it however you prefer.

Really the antenna? That's not even standardized across all cars in America! (My Neon's antenna is on the opposite side of my mother's Stratus for example - both Dodge and only one year apart). Looking at my HVAC panel, it is indeed symmetrical excluding the decal, so I can see how reversing the HVA...

Sometimes I think the old school mechanics of the 60's and 70's had some of the neatest tricks for repairs and maintenance. With the amount of attention cars required just to run properly, if you did it for a living back then, you needed those tricks to save you time. I love talking to the old time...
