You would be correct in a hypothetical situation where the wastegate is dumping exhaust gas at a time when primary flow is less than venting though. But since that situation is impossible, it's not as complex as you took it.

You have a little bit wrong. Venting wastegate to atmosphere is most efficient. When routing wastegate back into the exhaust, you don't surge. you reduce pressure differential so you don't spin the turbine as fast at the same exhaust pressure. In order to maintain the same boost pressure, you need e...

It's still dragging. Could be misaligned TOB, but more likely you still aren't pushing in the pressure plate because of air in the line.

Well, this should play with the big boys for sure. Everything right, it should easily do a mid 9, or if I can learn to drive it, a really high 8. I would kinda like to be in the top 3 neons ever if I can pull it off.

It's overrun fuel cut. Turn it off, and you may need to add a little fuel in the VE bins affected. Don't go nuts though or you will just foul plugs. Let me know if you need help.

MS lets you do anything and everything you want, including higher rev limits, more agressive timing out of boost, and all the extra toys. You do have to plug in the stock computer at emissions time though. FIC only lets you add fueling and timing retard within the stock rev range, but is emissions f...

Update: Motor is out sitting on a skid. I'm getting the block o-ringed and I'll check over everything while it's apart. Turbo is sold off, manifold will be sold off soon. I'll be building a new manifold that swings the turbo out over the transmission. Intake will be over the radiator out the hood. I...

I made over 500 on a stock plastic TB for a couple nights. It's not the size, it's the velocity. The smaller the TB, the faster the charge is moving when it goes through. That leads to lots more turbulence in the manifold, and unpredictable distribution. You usually end up getting cylinder one leane...

To make it work, he would need sensors, harness, ECU, gauge cluster, possibly key/skim module, and probably some other stuff. That is, unless he puts a megasquirt in it.

The volume of pressurized air vs. the time to fill it is very little. You will lose much more on top than you will gain in spool time.

I might recommend just tapping the threads on the bottom of the water neck for the coolant temp sensor. Then you can get rid of the vast majority of those clamped connections that could leak.

Yup. Stock ECU just does a fuel cutoff at those points. MS takes over fuel, so that's no longer an issue.

Yep, pull the fuse panel off and tap into the ignition power wire. It's fuse 11. If you pull it back, there is only 1 wire coming off that fuse. The other contact is on the box's main distribution. So the wire is fused in case something goes wrong.

A 2.4 will make more power at the same boost pressure and same RPM than a 2.0. But the 2.0 is at home at much higher RPM. Next year (If I can scrape together the cash) I will be running 50psi at 92-9400 RPM. A 2.4 wouldn't be very happy to do that, but my 2.0 loves it. But the 2.4 would certainly ma...
