Re: Random posting

... Has anyone heard from Black Rose Racing lately? I have not seen him here or on an Avenger site I'm also with in a long time. I've been wondering the same thing. Chris (BRR) has been facing some personal stuff, that I do not know about, but he did let some of us know his online presence would be...

Re: MyNeonSaysHi Mod Log: Stone White

thanks and sorry about your Journey. :( Chrysler products seem to be notorious for trans problems. Oh NO, That is how we are going to get the Journey...once the trans problem is fixed. My friend got it pretty cheap with the problem, either minor solenoid pack fix or putting another trannie into it(...

Yes, it was a great game and win for the Chiefs! Don't forget it was also Groundhog Day, and of the three "prognosticators that I know of, I heard report from two of them of an EARLY SPRING! Yesterday was not great weather here, but today I'm seeing near 50*f, and a lot of snow melt off...BUT I alwa...

Prayers are a WILL DO here! I didn't know him, but did get a "kick" reading his posts and updates of our FAVORITE brand.

On another note... Has anyone heard from Black Rose Racing lately? I have not seen him here or on an Avenger site I'm also with in a long time.

Re: Anyone know the common fail points for an 04 base Neon? A?C?

I just bought a Journey. They're pretty cool vehicles. You got the "face lifted year, and they are very nice. This one is first year offer for 3.6 and AWD with the 6 speed trans also. It's got the slightly smaller screen audio without nav or camera. BUT it still looks nice and has plenty of more mo...

Re: Anyone know the common fail points for an 04 base Neon? A?C?

1/23/20 UPDATE: We had a break from the cold and snow last week(2 days), took the battery out to access the rear bottom mounted brake line and proportioning valve. Found the valve was not fully tightened to the MC by one side of the hex shape, tightened it up and put all back together. Been a week n...

Yeah, He just wants "wheels to go". Won't even LOOK at tires to see if they have air in them or FLAT...Forget checking oil or other fluids. just put in the GAS is all! AND the reason I keep cobbling the car back together...He has not shown how to care for anything better(newer) by his use of the lit...

Re: MyNeonSaysHi Mod Log: Stone White

Even the "rear view" of your ride looks AWESOME! And I think those tail lights would look just right for anyone but a "purist". If our plain jane 04 were in better body shape and son CARED about his ride...I'd get them if put up for sale. BUT alas he thinks it should be cared for like a "play" room ...

Re: Anyone know the common fail points for an 04 base Neon? A?C?

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL! Other than giving up on the A/C and redoing complete rear brakes, the little red Neon is still soldering on with just a current slow leak at one of the brake proportioning valves on the master cylinder. This one is located on the bottom near the mounting base flange to booster...

@ MNSH... AWESOME ride there! Glad to hear it won't see SNOW! My rides do, but other than our plain jane Neon, they also do FINE in the crap we get here. Re: MyNeonSaysHi Mod Log: Stone White

I think you and Neon will be much happier with performance once all parts come in and are installed. Looks like good progress being made, I know that even with the SOHC 2.0 that I'm not thrilled about working on the firewall side of the motor! BUT I've had to work on worse applications than that in ...

Re: MyNeonSaysHi Mod Log: Stone White

As far as the teflon tape...I'd go with a liquid thread sealer from Loctite, it's in a HIGH heat area, and you can see the seepage from the original fitting. Test fit before install is the name of the game with anything that connects to something else! BUT that manifold crack is not going to get any...

Hello there and welcome to the forum! Our 04 base model sits low enough for our poor roadways, so I've had no interest in such a change to be of help. BUT I'm sure that that topic is well covered in the suspension heading page for you to look thru.

Re: Anyone know the common fail points for an 04 base Neon? A?C?

Well my son has just 2 more days of work requiring 100 mile round trips, and then it drops to 70 miles a day for commuting to local college. Which he's already been doing for the past week and then the summer job on the weekend. The little car is doing very well now that I laid the law down on how m...

Haha came back to this thread to check the equivalent of Mopar engine gen 2 rtv. Doing oil pan gasket and have to put that stuff in two corners. Have ultra black rtv When I replaced the cast pan on our 2.0, which uses a metal center "sandwich" (thin rubber) gasket. I applied a THIN coat to both sid...

Re: I really dislike forum search results!

OK, I found one thread about this subject by just scrolling thru this forum page ... and posted there on it also. Seems no real conclusion was made, but I tend to think the "oil wicking" in the harness connector and thru the wires core may be the source of trouble. That or relaxed pin connection in ...

Dormant thread...but yes our 04 2.0 SOHC will set a code that will disappear on the next start and the light turns off once motor is running. But has never turned on the CEL for it.

OK, I've said it and it is not just this site that forum search really annoyed...Can't find anything for a subject I'm looking for info on. So here goes the question. Our 04 2.0 SOHC has always seemed to every so often leave the oil warning lamp lit at start up. No noise, and yes has plenty of oil i...

My son is taking much better care of the little Neon, no "episodes" yet, and at 2500 miles I just topped the motor oil up to full with 1/3 of a quart of conv. 10-30 that's running in it this oil change. He's been putting on at least 700 miles a week on the little car!

Turbos have LONG had their longevity troubles ...all the way back to WW11 aircraft engines! Heat "coking" on shutdown of the oil feed/return on a HOT turbo is the most common cause. That"s why a number of years ago they came out with add on electric oil pumps to keep oil flowing on shut down and als...
