Re: Random posting

If the car payment is more than your mother's benefits, that's a tough sell. If they could find a way to get out of paying Chrysler Corp retirement benefits, they already would have. Even if they stop manufacturing vehicles here, they are probably going to be paying retirement benefits. It's doubtfu...

Re: Random posting

I seem another YouTube video a few months back about Stellantis purposely inflating the prices. The Dodge and Jeep lots were full, while the Toyota lots were nearly empty, because you could buy a higher trim Toyota for thousands less than a basic Wrangler. It's probably purposely shooting themselves...

Re: Random posting

https://www.jeep.com/bmo.wrangler.html#/models/2024/wrangler Waaaay too much money for something if you never plan on using it as a Jeep. The road manners on snow covered pavement are not the best. The neon can easily out perform a Wrangler going around a curve on pavement with an inch of snow on it...

They swapped mirror connectors on the 1gn's too. I ended up using a universal connector on my '99 to get the power mirror I bought to replace the missing one. Changing the door lock cylinder isn't bad once you get the door handle out. It is worth it to pull all of them, and lube the handle hinge. Mi...

Re: Random posting

I have a couple infrared tube heaters for my garage, but they ding the electric bill if I use them much. I have entertained the idea of an outside wood burner with water jackets and plumbing pipes through the wall to a radiator. At least I wont have to cut any flue pipes through the concrete block o...

In my wife's case, after wasting 6 months of insurance requirements, she finally got an MRI. Her doctor just listed the normal old age degenerative stuff as the source of the pain and growing weakness in her legs. She sent her to a pain management doctor. First visit he looked at the MRI, and told h...

$3400 and it needs two doors.

And an antenna.

Shows how good Carfax is. "No accidents" lol.

Or maybe it was done on purpose, so it wasn't an accident!

I moved into the middle of nowhere to have lots of car storage, only to be hassled by a township for my car storage. How annoying. They are using drones in my area so they can see things they can't see from the road and are hassling people over it. My neighbors are absolute hoarders, they are crack...

Re: Midnight_Rider's progress log

You would have still had to do multiple coats, and then keep it from over spraying everywhere. Unless you pulled the prop rod off, but I assume it's still on the car, otherwise you would have just been dipping it in the can. The glossifier might help harden it a bit, so it doesn't wear off as quickl...

Re: Midnight_Rider's progress log

There is expanding foam in the rocker panels also. It makes it virtually impossible to get full rust prevention applied to the inner panels. When I was spraying LPS3 into the rockers, etc on the Dark Jewel, it became painful apparent that minor sound deadening was a bigger priority than rust prevent...

Re: Help 2.4L swap

So the other issues are inconsequential until you get an SBEC engine. Since you can't go with a 2003 newer PCM, you're screwed by the rules. NGC is a 4 connector PCM, and is totally different looking. It's not something you can conceal. Otherwise I would say find a donor 2004/2005 MTX neon and use t...

Re: Help 2.4L swap

2003 to 2010 2.4 will not run with a 2001 PCM

You can only use up to 2002 as far as the engine to work with the SBEC PCM.

2003 up is NGC. It's a different crank and cam signal. No way to make them compatible.

Re: New programmed keys. Still won’t start

A dealer will probably not turn off the SKIM. You'll need the proper SKIM code to to program the keys. A dealer may do it for you if you have the title, valid ID, etc to prove ownership of the car. They will not even give you the key cut code without proof of ownership. If it is an ATX car, you migh...

Re: 2.4l 2001 swap

I cut the balance shaft chain on my swap, only to pull it back apart and make the balance shafts functional again. I got tired of everything vibrating. If the car is gutted, there's not much to rattle. For a race car, deleting the balance shafts is fine. For a DD, it was too much for me personally. ...

Was installing a new timing belt, etc part of fixing the original problem?

If it's the original 2004 belt, that could be an issue.

Re: Missfire at 5500 rpm

Was the target magnet in the cam specifically for 2003 to 2010? what are the codes you're getting? I think the underdrive pulley was only an issue for the 2002 pcm's, but it only flashed the CEL, but no actual misfires above 5500 rpm. With my 2002 R/T pcm, it crept as low as 4000 rpm, so I tossed th...

If you were to obtain an SRT/GT Cruiser pcm, be sure you don't get an '03. That's the one year that hasn't been cracked. It may go for '03 any neon pcm. At least they changed it for '04/'05. Long story short: Kevin got PO'ed because he wanted to make his handheld programmer only useable with only on...

There is not much good about getting old. Been through the epidural stuff about 15 years ago. After a year it seemed to help. Being more active has also helped.
