The old "heat wrench" works every time. May weaken the nut though. Yeah, I have thought about that. :-k But then, I have never heard of anyone, ever having one of those nuts 'break' on them. Unless I was racing the car, I probably wouldn't be too concerned about it.... One could always change out t...

I've seen this happen before !!

In my case (it was actually someone else's Neon, not mine), we were able to get the axle nut off.... After applying some heat to the nut.
It worked !! :thumbright:

I bought the same exhaust, I had no fitment issues. The only problem is that the tip is absurdly big so i cut it off and welded a 3" rolled tip to make it look more discreet. it sounds really good compared to most of the exhaust clips you hear on youtube, especially with a short ram intake. At 4k i...

Interesting topic / thread. Subscribed for updates. :) I'm a fabricator so this is not a problem. Just worried the vibration may rattle the unibody loose. It's a track car so I'm not worried about comfort. Just want to make a front and rear engine plate to make removal easier. You should start a pro...

Re: BMW 740 il lip on a Neon. Oh yes, retrofit time.

Here is a picture of my neon with the 1990 BMW 740il lip from the junk yard. Paid $26.00 and a little modification using a heat gun. It fits perfectly. There is also the functional air tunnels that direct the air from the two front holes to the rotors (I have not installed the parts yet. but don't ...

When you say the rear drums are 'orange from rust', I am assuming you are talking about the rear brake drums?? If your rear brake drums are just orange from rust..... That doesn't matter. What matters, is that the I.D. (inside) the brake drums, are within the proper specification. A local NAPA or pa...

Does your car come with a factory rear sway bar ?? Some folks have said they've had issues with fitment, on Neons with the rear sway bar -- Depending upon the 'kit' (or brand) that was used. If you don't have a rear sway bar to interfere with fitment -- Then you don't have to worry about that. Dynom...

If you want to 'upgrade' to a dual-outlet muffler, Magnaflow is a good choice. (ref. Magnaflow muffler part numbers: 12265 or 12266. 12265 is 2.5 inlet + 2.5 outlet; 12266 is 2.5 inlet and 2.25 outlet. It's listed as a 'Camaro/Firebird' muffler; but it seems a lot of Neon folks have adapted this muf...
