I OCCASIONALLY use Lucas oil stabilizer but other than that, just straight dino oil in the engine and no cheap gas from shady gas stations.

update,

the new "failsafe" thermostat I purchased is junk, was completely jammed open. I dropped it on the ground and it sprung back shut. never again.......

bump, got code p0128, runing a new fail safe thermostat from autozone with new coolant and new rad cap. The engine is running cold as hell. I will replace the thermostst

well, I have heat coming from the vents, so idk what to think, any help?

the previous owner filled the cooling system with water only,so allot of bends are full of rust particles. I got about half a handful of "black sand" out of the core by filling it with water and blowing it out

Good to know, Last night I disconnected both hoses and flushed the core out multiple times in both directions, and filled it with new coolant. I have some heat now, and the engine seems to take allot longer to heat up now (about 10 mins of slow driving vs 5 minutes) I am going to flush it again, but...
