turn signal wire problem
turn signal wire problem
So you probably know by now that I put 03+ headlights in my 01. However, the turn wires were too short so 2day i spliced in some extensions and I dont know whats wrong. I only did the driver side and the turn worked, but was very dim and the headlight was extremely dim compared to the passenger side. When i start the car the right turn arrow stays lit, but doesnt blink and when i put on the right turn signal the car turns off. So i took out the extensions and put it back the way it was, but it didnt fix the problem. Any ideas?????

i did the same thing you did, spliced the turn signal wire, and now even after everything is connected, the turn signal still wont work. my car still started though

Is the thickness of the wire that you spliced the same as the thickness of the original wire for the turn signal? Did you splice a very long wire?
Also, bulbs act like resistors...maybe the new bulbs have a high resistance. You generally should use bulbs with resistance equal to that of the original turn signal bulbs. This can be measured with a multimeter.

Sounds like you messed up some grounds. Other than the not starting part, my lights did the same thing one time when I forgot to hook up the ground wires on the core support.
