P0700 Transmission Control System Malfunction
daniel-you should be able to get your tranny rebuilt for $1000 or less. Just call everyone in the phone book. You will find someone to do it for much less than $2000.

that's the thing, i really dont think it needs rebuilt and the shop didn't even look at it all they did was ask me what it was doing, how much could i get the transmission computer for? i'd rather risk wasting money on that cuz there's a chance it might fix it

tell them that your forward clutch is about burnt out/going out. Thats what it sounds like to me anyway.

yeah Im hoping it doesnt go out on me now....I didnt drive it last night.....and Im driving it only to the exhasut place today to get the srt rear section/glasspack slapped on....then got an appt at 2 tommorrow soo i am just gonna go like 30 all the time and hope it doesnt burn out. Since its about to burn out....do I have a better chance of not having to do a rebuild?

chances are a rebuild will have to be done. also while they have it have them add an external tranny cooler. it will help save you from rebuilding again any time soon.

Is there a chance that my car will just need a transmission fluid/filter change and that it would fix my problem? I checked my transmission fluid and its still red....not brown....soo just wondering

doubt it but keep me posted on what prices you find for rebuild out there.

I think it would be cheaper to go to a junkyard and yank one off an older car - or buy one from the boards. Just an opinion. You could do the install yerself.

well took it to the garage today and he told me I needed a new TCM.....soo I called the dealership and explained my problem and he said it sounded more like a speed sensor and it should be inexpensive....soo taking my car there tuesday. hoping its just taht problem....I dont feel like fixing stuff that is fine and then realizing its something totally different.....
