Your car NEEDS coolant/anti-freeze to live! It's... Ummm... A vital part of your cooling system.

just wondering but how does your cars heat work? does it come off through your radiator to?

the ac has a condensor infront of the a/c, remove the top radiator baracets then remove the 4 screws 2 on top and 2 on bottom they hold the condensor to the radioter, than pull the condensor out. and yes the cars heater works off the cooling system, there are 2 lones that run just above your tranny to the firewall they are your heater lines. thay have coolent in them so do not removethem, or you wil lhave to refill your rad fluid. removing the ac is as simple as unbolting it and pulling it all out. get a haynes manual for your car if you donot have one and good luck.

I thought the heat was just warmed by engine bay temperature? I know a lot of cars are.

nope, the reason i know this is cuz the heater core on my first gen cog clogged

no the heater werks from a little radiator in your dash called a heater core that is fed coolant that flows throught the radiator and the engine block.

ok so there is 2 cords that come off the a/c vent condensor things but 1 of them go to the water pump... how do i get around that? theres 2 that go to the water pump but 1 dosent have to do with pressure of the air conditiong... what do i do about the 2 huge holes in the water pump?

there are no a/c hookup that go to the water pump. go to pepboys, autozone where ever and get a haynes manual for $15 it will tell you exactly what to do. your a/c line are all alumanum except for a little section. the only way the ac is connected to anything is by screws on a compresstion style fitting.

check your pm's

I'm pretty sure those are ground wires. You should really pick up a haines manual. Those help, ALOT...

Yes they're ground wires and I agree, you should go pick up a haynes manual.

I think that you should not work on your car until you read some books or something. Learn how stuff works, so you know how to, or atleast what kind of shop to take the car to when you fuck it up.

^yeah,

you shouldnt have to drain the trans just to remove the a/c....

when i took my car to a shop awhile back they used just regular gear oil to fill it up and it ran fine...

it would be a lot better to run either a synchromesh fluid or atf. preferable synchromesh.

in complete seriousness, you really need to get a service manual of some sort and read it over.

you will have a pm in about 2 minutes.

i figured this was my alternator but i wasnt sure cause when i pulled my engine out it worked. but i put my battery on a battery charger to start it up with the new engine in because i figured the battery was low. so i start it up and it runs fine idle drops a little but then it goes back so i checked a few things and the idle sits fine now but the battery light keeps coming on and then the idle drops with the batterylight on. when its on the battery charger everything is fine but once i take it off about 3 to 5 minutes later the light comes on and the idle drops again, when i test drive it, its seems like whenever i shift the light comes on but even when i sit still it comes on to. i figured maybe it was the alternator but the alternator was good on the other engine before i hydrolocked it, maybe the alternator got wet or something but its all the way on the other side of the engine. is there a ground thats supposed to come off the alternator to the chassis or something that i forgot to do? cant quite figure this out. ive used 2 batteries and they both do the same thing so i know its not the battery.

Wow.

Posting in a legendary thread.

Edit: Please, stop working on your car, and read the manuel, and the other members PM's they are sending you. These are potentially very expensive mistakes you are making. If you have a question about something, ask, before you start doing it. If your not sure of what to use for tranny fluid, yet pour it in anyways, seems kinda.. insane. No offense :x

I ALWAYS, double check with other members before i start any sort of work on my car. If i dont have a 100 % grasp of what im about to do, i simply do not do it.

omg i must be having the worst luck with this swap or something but i started to drive it and everything was going fine i found out what the ding! was and then i see a trail of liquid behind me up my driveway. i stop the car and jack it up and theres a crack/hole in my transmission the size of a penny and all my fluid leaked out. i called 2 garages and they said something called JB weld and to give that a try. put a little bit on the inside and cake it up on the outside and let it sit for 24 hours. said it will dry amazingly hard but you have to do it perfect and it needs to be air tight cause its alot of pressure. anyone have an opinion on this?

by silentneon01
Ok the reason your having such issues is it seems to me your rushing things and you shouldn't do that.

If you have a hole in your tranny case the size of a penny I doubt Jb weld will hold up for very long. But the MOST imporant thing is HOW the hole happend in the first place. Did you drop it? Did the diff pin shear has gearing been shot to hell and blew out causing the hole. Holes that happen to tranny is normally cause by something inside breaking and becoming FUBAR.

:x :x :x :x :x

Im sorry, but I cant even tell if this is the real deal, or a joke.

Your tranny is gone more then likely, and a bottle of JB Weld is not going to help you. You cant just patch this up, and hope it goes away. Your age states your 16, is that correct? I dont want to sound like an asshole, because im a nice guy, but you really should talk to your parents about this.

Talk to your parents, and have your car towed to a shop or the dealership to get repaired, and do not try to do it yourself.

I hope for your sake you have some money saved up, because this is a pretty expensive mistake.

wow...I hope you get your car fixed okay. Haynes manuals are very helpful.

i think i dropped it on its side at 1 point and it might have weakened the wall. im thinking im probably going to have to just buy a new transmission.

You think you dropped it? I'm sorry but wouldn't you know if you dropped your tranny? I haven't handled mine recently, but I presume I would know if I dropped it.

I have to agree with everyone else here, when I say, to prevent anymore things going wrong, just stop working on your car and take it to a shop, be honest with them and tell them everything you have done to it so they know to check over everything that you've already gone over. I hate to sound mean, and I'm sorry if I come across that way, but seriously, this could and probably is getting very expensive to fix.

Either way, I hope you get it fixed soon.
