tradeing in my car

well from the answers i got from the atx > mtx i am better off trading in my neon. So i was wondering what the trade in value my car would have to buying one with a mtx. i have a 05 sxt with 16,XXX miles on it... brand new condition.
There is a neon for sale from the dealership that is a 2003 neon sxt, 46,XXX miles on it that has a mtx, for around $11,900. Do u think i could trade for that?
or how much would you guess i would have to add??

That price is very very high. I got my 03 over a year ago for less then 9,000 and it should be even less now. I also have an auto, which increases the value so an mtx should be a little less.

IF you're honestly going to trade in your new car for a mtx, you might as well try looking for a SRT while you're at it. There are plenty around for pretty cheap.

do u think i would have to give more money to trade for that or the dealership would give me money on it?

Whats your kbb value. Compare costs. When I was looking to trade my neon in for a srt, they asked me how much I wanted to trade it in for, and we worked from there.

11k for 03 SXT? Is it me or is that extremely high? I've seen some SRTs for 13k.
Our resale value is not good. Whatever you get for your car, you're still going to have to throw in significant dough.
Dealership is going to give you money?

Try finding an r/t, it will be worth it
http://www.autotrader.com is a usefull source, where I happend to find my R/T. Use the "power search" function and select manual under the tranny selection thing.
Use
http://www.kbb.com as a good guid for pricing your car.

sell your 05 sxt to a "private party" and buy an srt from another "private party"
in that case youd be getting a little over $10k for your sxt
03 srt for $13k...
http://www.srtforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=290310
04 srt for $13.9k
http://www.srtforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=290212
etc etc etc

An SRT for a 16 year old?
Good god I hope you have a great job, because I know my parents would have laughed at me if I asked them to pay insurance.

well just for comparisons . . . .
I got my BRAND new SXT (03- MTX - with the sport apperance package) for 11,200 (brand new)
I just sold my 2k2 White R/T for 6500.00 (only had 40k on it)
And I just got my (almost new) SRT-4 with 7000 miles on it for 15,100
All of those prices are pretty fair prices i think . . .

My 2003 SXT cost me $9300 in July 2005 with only 27k miles on it... from a Dodge dealership.
An 03 with 46k on it for $11.9k? Ok, gas prices are high and Neons are a pretty sweet way around that, but come on!
