Ok, so I am attempting to ship a set of my SRT4 seats to Germany via the FPO/APO (military address), but the post office says they wont accept boxes that big going overseas. Is there anyway I can dissassemble the seatback from the base without signifigantly damaging the fabric or risking catatstrophic breakage of em?
Please; no smartass comments like "Just send them to me", I need to get these out of here soon, Im sitting on this kid's money and I dont want to make him wait any longer than he has to.

Ya the side has bolts and they come apart. Then you just have the upper and lower piece.

Are the sidebolts covered by the fabric at all? I think I know what you are talking about

Let me run out and take a look at my SRT
give me a few minutes

ADD:

Ok after look at my seats - Looks like theres a bolt right next to where the back hinges to the seat area

If your seats are exactly like the SRT seats - its behind a peice of plastic covers by fabric
I dont have a my camera - so i cant take a picture
but its very easy to find - its right on the side

No im not sure if that bolt will seperate the two peices or not -but thats where the bolt is located

You are amazing man, thanks alot... I never knew that those were zippers :!: Now for another question; do you think that the side bolstering will be easily damaged in shipping?
I really would much rather sell these locally, hell even nationally, but I promised the kid something, and I know how bad I wanted these seats and how awesome it was to get them. Now they are sitting in a UPS store awaiting my instructions on how to package them.

You're welcome :) They shouldn't get damaged as long as you had the vinyl wrapped well enough that nothing pokes through the box and damages the vinyl. You should be good... if they get damaged I'd be pretty suprised and shocked b/c of how much torture they'd have to go through in shipping

LOL I wouldn't, have you seen some of the boxes comming off their trucks?

Yo're probably right but typically mine come looking pretty decent... they'd have to jump up and down on the box to really damage those bolsters.

When I got my ACR seats he didn't even box them, just used an ass load of plastic wrap type stuff. Then my Normal SRT's came and seat shaped cut boxes filled with newspaper.
