carbon fibre 3 pod a pillar

Post by rice_eater » Mon Nov 06, 2006 9:41 pm

i finally got around to doing this, thanks to TeamliviD pushing me to do it over and over  i think it looks wicked, and couldnt be happier about how the fiber stretched around, and that i could make it all out of one piece  enjoy, and get your paypal ready if you want one :P

EDIT: not clearcoated... looks fcked up coz i'm in the process of sanding it before the clearcoating... once that's done i'll of course post a lot more pictures :)

its sanded, the only clear spots are where the water haddend dried yet... it still needs to be clearcoated

haha, that's one of the things they say in most "how-to"s i've read... after epoxying, sand till part is smooth and looks all fucked up  then clearcoat/gelcoat

That does indeed look badass!

To bad I have no use for a million gauges in my car.

Nice product though!

around 150CAN for both... i'll know by this afternoon when i pry the cf off the mold if it's strong enough or if it needs one more layer... if it does, it'll be about 180CAN for both... i too think that they'd look better as a pair and always planned to sell them as such, but if someone really wants just the 3pod, then lets say 100-110CAN... how does this sound?

you should get a scan gauge, oil pressure (dummy light comes on at like 4PSI oil pressure, waaaay too low) + A/F or your option... the aeroforce scangauge i have shows everything the engine is monitoring, plus works like a full OBD computer and the ability to record; htere are different gauges, that only monitor a couple things each, so you can get 2 of those coz they are cheaper....

Damn, what did you use to make the pods themselves? I would kill to have something like this for my Daytona. FWDPerformance only sells a 2 pod for it.

If you're into Autometer, they've got a killer selection. They've got almost everything listed on eBay.

i just used the plastic one from modernperformance as a mold... there are how-tos out there on how to make your own out of 2 1/4" abs pipe and bondo and i've seen people make some really nice stuff but it would have taken me way too long to do that... if you can get me a plastic one, i'll make as many as you need for you and your friends, that's no problem at all
