i think there is a post in the review section about this. i would post the link, but im to lazy
i dont think there was a huge gain. your best bet is to go with a long tube header

It is probably my review that he is referring to as I just did this last week. Header actually sat in my garage for about 8 months until I finally decided to get around to it.
Didn't notice a real big performance gain as the exhaust ports on the SOHC head are pretty small. It is lighter than stock and I am sure it flows better than stock. It may have a little more pull in the upper RPM but I am not big on the butt dyno. It did seem to quiet the car down at cruising RPM. It was a realitively cheap upgrade. I think I paid about 75-85 for the header shipped, 25 to get the O2 bung welded in, and about 15 for the gaskets, anti seaze compound and some PB blaster (in case something bolts wanted to be difficult). If you can find a good deal on a mag header, I say go for it. Every little bit helps and it will help more if you do more mods down the road.
For a long tube you are going to spend $200-300 for the header, and then you will need to get a high flow cat or move your stock cat back...probably have to extend your O2 bungs to reach the new further back position. Still need the gaskets. And unless you or a buddy can do the welding, you will have to add 100-200 in labor to install everything. To me that is not worth it until you have a built head and bigger cam installed.
