hmm... keep us posted? i think i read some where in here that if your primer coat and final coat are high temp then you can use what ever in the middle is that true?
if that is true then i may be the one doing the camo thing

i used a high heat base red, my mid coat is going to be non high temp, and i couldn't find a high heat clear, so i went with a krylon clear, i hope that holds up... anyone think the clear will be a problem?

I used High Temp Exhaust coating for my base, Flame Red body paint from Mopar for the color, and High Temp Clear to finish and its held up for almost 2 years without an issue....

what is the difference between using a 2gn and 1st gen covers? sorry to hijack this thread but i always been wondering why you went with a 1st gen cover.

the second generation valve covers have a fatal (IMO) design flaw that when making a hard left turn will swoosh some oil towards the pcv and thus making its way into your intake manifold. The first generation valve cover has the pcv in the front just above the spark plug tube inlets. This area is also protected inside by another sheet of metal. The rear host inlet is also curved which helps with thrushing oil.
Another notable feature is that the first gen covers are metal as opposed to the second gen (except RT) are plastic.
Have a look at the covers below. the first is my first gen and the second is bad01neon's cover.

1st gen vc's FTW. I'd take one, but I just bought a brand new powder coated 2nd gen one....oh well. I have a catch can.

second color/graphics are layed.... when it dries they will be pulled, exposing the red. but im not naming the main color. im gonna try and round up some hi temp clear this weekend, but i may not get it til after payday, although, i may end up just giving the non hi temp stuff a shot and see what happens....

Ya'll might have already seen these on ebay, but they are powder coated 1gn VC's. They are a bit pricey and you wouldn't have the self gratification of doin it yourself, but hey, if yer lazy its a pretty easy route to take.
here is the link.

There are several colors, none i really like cept the gold but ya. Good luck to everyone on their creations!
