This is a weird one...
I didn't know where to put this but I trust you guys more then I do anyone else so.....
I had been having troubles with my battery, just wouldn't keep a charge and the light never came on about the bad alt. So I figured NEW BATTERY. So I get the new battery and all my lights go on and everything inside work sjust fine, try tio start it and I hear a click, like it trying to turn over and nothing else. My old battery is very old cause I know it was not new when I got my car 2 years ago.
You guys have any ideas what I can do? PLEASE HELP! Needed it fixed like yesterday

does it start when the hood is opened? maybe its grounding out to the hood...or maybe its a bad cable.
to check the cables:
-get a multimeter
-check voltage across the terminals of the new batt.
-check voltage from battery ground to starter. (should be the same as across the terminals)
-check the battery ground by checking resistance from neg terminal to a GOOD chassis ground. (should be VERY close to zero)
that'll check the 2 cables that you need to start the motor...not necessarily to keep it running though...

The not start issue sounds like a low battery (yes I know it's new, but wierder things have happened) or it may be a bad starter.
As for the dying battery issue it could be related to the starter again, or somthing else. You'll need to check the ignition off draw on that one.

Well said CA180. Check you cable condition and then the charge on your new battery. I have seen batteries not maintained and thus be dead/low charge when you get them.
Try a quick jump and then see if it gets better after running it for a while.
Voltage should be 12.45 volts or more just siting there for a 75% charge. 12.75V is a full charge. Then you can check voltage at the battery when trying to start the car to see if it is dropping too low. Should not be less than 11V on a new & charged battery.
So if it is low charge the battery if you can or just jump it to get it started and go for about a 1/2 hour drive.
