from what i've heard the MSD coilpack isn't really any better than the stock one, but i could be wrong.
There isn't any oil in the spark plug tubes is there? U could also try cleaning your injectors.
When does the stutter happen? Full throttle, idle?

They are JUNK!accel u grooves
I had them in my old reliant with a 650double pumper and they fouled out the first 5 minutes I ran the car. Stick with NGK's wether its the V-power's or the Iridiums that I have been running for 3 years(same set, 2 different cars, 3 different motors gapped at .45)
As for wires, I'll sell the MSD's im using now or the MP wires shipped at a resonable price, pm me on that.
And now finally the coil, unless yours is taking a crap upgrading to the Accel,MSD, or Screamin Deamin on your setup is a waste of time

Under what conditions does the studder happen? Mine studders when I am going slow...like cruising thru housing @ 15mph in 2nd gear....it studders pretty hard (enough where the wife and kids start bitching and tell me to stop screwing around). It only happens in a very small speed/rpm window for me.
Are ya'll talking about the same thing, or something different?

Mike, you're effin kiddin me right?!?!?!
jerome, mine happens when i gas it... like hard acceleration, whether from a stop or from a low rpm in 2nd or 3rd gear, if i get on the gas really hard it stutters adn shakes the whole car...
oh, and it does it at idle, if you listen to my car idle, you can hear it miss, sometimes just once, sometiems 3 or 4 times in a row.

I'm going to try new plugs... If those don't fix anything, I'm trading the car in. I just put in new plug wires 6 months ago.

Yeah, I'm kidding. Sometimes I get frustrated at this problem and would like to, but that won't happen... At least not for another 2 or 3 years.TNK wrote:Mike, you're effin kiddin me right?!?!?!

And yeah, that's extremely similar to my situation... Pretty much if I'm below 3,000 RPM and mash the gas (or even 3/4 acceleration), it almost feels like one cylinder completely shuts down and goes into Briggs & Stratton mode.
^that sounds like my problem..... exactly my problem.... bad01neon, any chance you got part numbers for those plug wires? the cheapest set my local autozone had were $32, and i dont have any money.

I installed new Champion Copper plugs yesterday because I got bored... The car runs like new... For now. I guess we'll see how long that lasts.
I'll just do what kc2002acr does and change them with every oil change... Speaking of which...
EDIT: Oh yeah... Does it mean anything if the spark plugs I pulled from cylinder 1 and 2 were a bit wet with gas? 3 and 4 were bone dry and 1 and 2 were a bit wet and much hotter. I started with #4 and worked my way to #1, BTW, if that helps with anything... The car was sitting for about 30 minutes after driving about 6 miles.

i got less than 10k on my champions copper plugs...3 of them were toasted. did you try ngk iridium iv or v-power?03sxt wrote:I installed new Champion Copper plugs yesterday because I got bored... The car runs like new... For now. I guess we'll see how long that lasts.

I just put in the ngk iridiums. My engine seems to be running smoother but i think the champions that were in it were shot and new champions would have done the same. I think a lot of noise/vibration/harshness problems can be fixed with new ignition stuff. My engine certainly is smoother with new plugs and msd wires. If you do get new wires stay away from the mopar performance ones. my friends acr had those and they kept popping off of the plugs and causing misfires. I gave him my cheap crappy autozone wires I had laying around and his misfire problem went away.
