PCM Reflash = Engine Bogs down......

Reflashed my 2000 mtx PCM at the dealer, the update was supposed to help with driving improvements, AC problem, and other fixes (there are TSBs about this)... every thing is great except when going hard from first to second gear, the engine bogs-down (stumbles) whatever you want to call it.... :(

that is the only time it does......

i will be changing coil pack, wires, and plugs this week since they are due anyways.......

this is going to be a hard one to fix i'm sure.........

Any ideas ?

Sounds like maybe one of the cylinder's isn't firing properly, which can be the case, then changing the coil, wires, and plugs should fix the problem, then if not, possibly injectors?

correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought I remember reading that a lot of 2nd gen neons have that bogging problem between 1st and second...I know I personally have a bit of a bog between those gears...

I have the 3.94 as well and still experience a tiny bog...not a great big one or anything, but there is this one...

I dunno, just kind of throwing this out there, but maybe possibly change the fuel injectors? It may not be getting enough fuel to the cylinders, or just run some injector cleaner first and see.

UPDATE

This is getting worse, i am thinking it has nothing to do with the PCM flash. it feels like the engine wants to shutoff for a second, then goes back to normal.........

i put some injector cleaner in, nothing changed.......

i am open for ideas ......
