SRT-4 throttlebody on a SXT?

Hey I was just wondering if anyone has seen a SXT neon with a SRT-4 throttlebody. They are 60mm right?

the SXT TB is an inline style, or in other words there is a bellows tube that seperates the TB and intake manifold.
the SRT is mounted.. Attached to the Intake manifold with a gasket in between.
So it wont work

Won't work without a lot of modification to the intake manifold or TB for the reason MoxHairR/T said above

i really dont see why it shouldnt work, grant you with some modification. The SRT is just a DOHC throttle body with a spacer it should float inline just like the neon.

what about using a 1gn manifold? or a ghettoblaster

probably could work but the first gen manifolds are just a bit smaller i believe. dont quote me on that though.
A ghettoblaster should work. We actually work with ducted fan systems for aircrafts at work. These fans are probably about 2 feet wide and are made of the same material as the second gen intake manifolds (think of them like giant plastic/composite turbo systems). These fans are basically glued together using a special glue. I'm sure this stuff would work to glue together a ghetto blaster quite nicely.
i just received my srt throttle body yesterday. Unfortunately the guy who sold it to me forgot to send me the spacer. As soon as i get it i will have full pics of the throttle body and eventually some of it in action.

i forgot to answer this question. The inlet of the SRT throttle body is 52mm and begins to taper at the back of the plate to 47mm. This is pretty bland however consdering you can buy a stock throttle body and dremel out the rear to a straight 52mm bore. A cheap mod in my opinion.
my reason for trying this is that i get a CEL when using a 60mm throttle body.

ported to a straight bore and modified the spacer to fit standard couplers.
inlet
spacer and outlet to bellows tube
side view for throttle cable (i still need to find a cable bracket)
side view with sensors

isn't the sxt and rt Tb already 52mm?

Seems liek a waste of moolah - just wondering why you bought an srt tb??

yes they are the same size, however they do not have a straight bore. As i begin to work on this, i am going to port it just a bit more. My reason for this is to give the car just a bit more performance while not triggering limp mode on my ngc car.
not bad for 30 bucks. If you cant get one cheap it wold be a major waste of money though.

^^w3rd, you solved RT NGC Problema!

i wouldn't say i solved it. The idea is to get in as much air as i can without throwing the limp mode code. It will never be as good as the a 60mm throttle body but at least some push will be better than none. I still haven't even tried it yet, i need to get a throttle cable bracket.

in the 2nd pic, where did you get the bellow tube?

thats not a bellows tube. the second pic is actually the inlet of the throttle body. the trailing attachment that is bolted on is the spacer.
The spacer has been modified in order to accept stock couplings. The original outlet was much thicker than it is now. I should have just left it and got myself a coupler with a tapered end but in the end decided against it.

ok, where did you get that spacer? also, looks like its custom made?

the spacer is actually part of the SRT throttle body assembly. If you look closely you will see i have added two nuts to hold the assembly together. the spacers outlet was also modified; see my post above. This is normally bolted on (i believe to a set of intercooler pipes). Since i am using going to attempt to use the throttle body on a normal bellows tube i trimmed the bolts and added the two lnuts.

from the dead...it's Diablo0's fault.
I'm going to question the benefit of a straight bore 52mm TB over a venturi style 52mm TB. I don't think you're going to benefit much at all...especially nothing you'd actually feel. But maybe I'm wrong. Any results from this project?

i'm still waiting on a throttle cable bracket. I just managed to get a stock neon one so im going to have to hack it up. As for the porting goes, The srt guys seem to get at least better throttle response by econo-porting their throttle bodies.
I have two srt throttle bodies here. My intention is to get my second, backup throttle body ported to a true 55mm and a new plate placed in If the first one if the first throttle body works as planned. Keep in mind that this project is only to see how much air i can suck in without triggering limp mode on my ngc powered car.

Interested to see how this turns out... I ran into the limp mode issue on my 05 with the 60mm
Are the sensors just plug and play??

No. You have to get the SRT IAC sensor as well. I believe the TPS is interchangeable.

well, i finally got a spare neon throttle cable bracket. Now i have two problems. I normally cut metal using my dremel and that just died on me.
The second problem is that i lost the only pic i had of an srt throttle cable bracket. Does anyone have a pic of the bracket on or off of a throttle body? Better yet, would anone with an SRT be willing to take pics of theirs?
Any help i can get would be greatly appreciated.

well. I was planning on fixing my exhaust this week but that didnt go as planned. Bored out of my brains i decided to install the throttle body. I just put it on and started the car. nothing else was done because i have lent the car to my dad until next week or so. If any problems arise, i dont want it to happen while my dad is driving the car. Upon comparing things i did notice that you will have to use the stock TPS from your throttle body; the srt TPS will not work. The cannon plug for the srt TPS is not the same size.
I did do a quick compare of the throttle bodies. The stock neon setup is much bigger in the inlet and does use the
venturi tube setup. The stock SRT setup does the same however with it being metal, it gives you the option to port. I have already done an econo port job going from 57mm inlet to the 52mm at the plate.
I have a strong feeling that the throttle body will indeed need to be ported to a full 55mm and a new plate put it. I have already been in contact with someone about porting the throttle body. Although i didnt run the car, i believe that the work put forth into this project is not worth it unless the throttle body is fully ported.
If only guys like lorenzo and modern would use some common sense and simply bore out one of their own throttle bodies to 55-57mm. I am sure plenty of other guys suffering from this same problem would rather have some power instead of none.
