question for those who have a wideband a/f gauge.....
question for those who have a wideband a/f gauge.....
i just got mine in the other day
it is the new autometer wideband that they just finally released. now i hooked it all up and went for a drive, but the gauge wont start reading right away....takes a while. almost like it needs to heat up the o2 sensor before the gauge kicks on and starts working. im kinda confused because i thought thats what the heater wire was for...to quickly heat the o2 sensor up so it starts reading right away. its weird though because ill start the car and the gauge just has a dash like it isnt reading anything yet. then once i hit the gas it does its little countdown and starts reading. if i just let it sit in idle it wont kick on till i give it some gas, unless i am first starting the car up for the day. then it wont do anything even while i drive around/car is heated up. just wondering if anyone elses widebands do the same? or is mine just being

I looked at that link to the product site, and it says it uses a Bosch sensor. Do you know which Bosch sensor is it?
If it's the LSU4.2, then the issue isn't the sensor, it's the controller. I have the AEM wideband controller with a Bosch LSU4.2 sensor and it starts reading pretty much instantly (even from a cold start).
It may just be the way the controller is set up...
