i was looking on a focus forum for my gf's car and it said that if you push both buttons on the remote keyless, you can switch the fob's mode to unlock all the doors.
well, i'm heading outside to try. i'll be back in a few and i'll let you know.

actually, I hit my unlock button once, all unlock... used to be the other way - hit once, driver door, hit second time, rest of them unlocked. Was really handy to change around because either my wife or son would pull handle before the second button, then Iwould be stuck hitting it again or unlocking from inside
There are directions in the Service manual you get with the car.

Its call Central Locking/Unlocking
NOTE: Steps 2 and 3 must be completed within 10 seconds.
1. Close all doors and place the key in the ignition switch
2. Cycle the ignition switch ON/OFF four times ending in the OFF position.
3. Press the interior door lock switch to the UNLOCK position.
4. A single chime will sound to signify that you have successfully disabled the double activation feature. You can turn the feature back on by repeating the above mentioned procedure.
