when i think about it. it is only 2.25inch piping and isnt that our stock? what would be the benifit out of getting this exhaust system? if anything....

anyways...anyone reccomend brand name dual outlet catbacks with 2.5 or bigger for sxt's? and i dont want "HEY PUT SRT EXHAUST ON IT!"

i kinda just want a 2.5

I'm running Boral catback (from modern P), and I love the sound that it produces.

the benefit of the magnaflow, even though it is only 2.25" is that it's mandrel bent, so you dont have as sharp of turns and the exhaust flows more freely. Most people, including myself went ahead and bought a 2.5" exhaust, that way, down the road, you wont have to worry about your exhaust being a bottle neck of any kind when you continue upgrading your motor.

I wanna say that any mandrel bent exhaust is going to give you a little bit of performance gain, basically what you'd really be looking for is tone and longevity issues. Obviously a full stainless system is going to last the best.

I personally had a 2.5" pace setter, it was cheap, dual outlet, but it wasnt stainless. A lot of people didnt like them, but it looked good, sounded good, might have been the longtube header matched to a high flow cat, and full solid motor mounts but hey! it all depends on what kind of tone you want and how much you want to spend.

Someone mentioned the borla system, not bad by any means, but it was twice as much as the pacesetter was, and it just wasnt in my budget.

how do motor mounts help the sound exactly?.....and i may be the only person on the planet that has done this but.......heres wat i did.... i got in my car...went down to the muffler shop.....pointed at the flowmaster racing series on the wall....they slapped it on.....cost me 180 bucks and 1 hour time and with my header and gutted cat its the loudest throatiest 4 banger in town. and when i say its loud and throaty i mean ITS LOUD AND THROATY... ive heard some of u guys supposidly loud exhaust on ur videos....they aint loud.... id do a sound video but the camera cant capture the amazingness unless i stodd back like 20 yards and u could here the glug glug sound just not how loud lol.... dunno y more ppl dont use flowmaster

Mine are round. Plus, if you look on the Borla website, that part number shows up with round tips as well. I've actually never even seen one with the oval tips installed. hansken... you got round or oval tips on yours?

yeah on borla.com they are round and on modern p they are oval.

1 thing i dont like though is that it is 700 dollars for the 03-05 new borla catback dual outlet....and its only 2.25

magnaflow is dual outlet catback....2.25 piping, and stainless steel...and its only around 450$$

haha. i just want a 2.5 piping dual outlet catback for the 03-05 model besides the srt ones that are loud as fucking balls.

would it work if i got a dual outlet catback exhaust, high flow cat, and a long tube header? or would i have to do some cutting.

trust me, put solid mounts on your car and it's going to sound different ALSO if you want loud, run an open long tube header, i drove like that for a couple days never again. couldnt think

The Solid mounts dont help sound or flow...but when using a LTH you typicly delete the flex pipe. To keep from breaking flanges you have to stop the movement...and to do that you need solid mounts. Race polys are nice but there is still mvement. Ive got a poly lower and solid upper on my SXT with a MTH from TTI.

Now...your glug glug mught sound cool...but do you have dyno numbers to back up its "bad ass-ness"?

Trubendz has 2.5" Magnaflow kits for NA Neons. From what most people say, unless you have MAJOR mods, anything over 2.25" is overkill, and might actually hurt your torque band.

lol well as far as the HP gain from it no i do not have a dyno to show anything but as far as solid mounts i have those as well upper and lower...made them myself outa square bar just sayin if you want a loud very nice soundin exhaustfor cheap slap on a racing series flowmaster...not those 40 series or 50 series or those huge ones...its a lil one like 1/3 the size of those works for a 4 banger and works on a big block...sounds great... all those special for neons exhaust dont seem to be very long lasting and cost alot more and dont have the sound either....just my opinion

Look here - do this - mandrel bent, inexpensive, and 2.5"... you may even have a shop near you (like I) who can get the parts for you for cheaper than Summit/Jegs... this is how I am going, and I know dawm liked it a lot. Although, I am keeping my stock muffler. :D

Yeah my Borla has the round tips.....

I know that its expensive compared to other exhaust systems, but I heard nothing but great things about Borla and that they were the best.

(Sorry I thought the Borla was a 2.5")
