well..after doing some looking it doesn't look good....from what it sounds like i may have to get a new pcm....

tommorow i am gonna take a look under the hood, unplug the battery clean the posts up then check out the wiring and see if anything looks funny and check the pcm connections...but i think she toasted something .......which sucks and i think is odd cause the car drives fine, all the gauges are where they should be etc etc etc

Yep, in the Powertrain Diag manual it says...
The Powertrain Control Module is reporting internal errors, view repair to continue.

Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module in accordance
with the Service Information.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 1.
Doesn't look too good, time to start looking through Salvage yards maybe if you wanted to try and save a few bucks :-?

yeah...after doing reading it looks like thats whats gonna have to happen....luckily i have looked on some junkers sites for around here..and looks like i can get a good pcm for 75 bux canadian......and then the cost of the flash.....and hopefully i wont need to get out my 5 gallon pump top bottle of anal lube for all this....ha ha

this is the wierdest issue i have had so far...start the car up...light....huh.....car runs fine...but the computer is toast....seems odd eh

Dead battery does all kinds of wacky things to these cars. So I guess there could be a slight chance of that causing it, but it does sound more like a Kentucky Fried Computer.

As far as the car still running ok, you'd be surprised at how many 'limp home' safety fallbacks Chrysler incorporated into these cars. As far as electronics, the firmware in the TCM and the PCM can screw up pretty bad and the car will still at least run ok enough to get somewhere.

well..i guess i am one lucky sob then....cause....corrosion on the battery terminal is what seemed to cause it.

cleaned the terminal off(had just done this two weeks ago too) and started her up and no code drove for a while and no code. so...considering the battery is almost 4 and i keep getting corrosion on the terminal i think its time for a new battery....oh well..i can swallow this better then a new computer.

this car and batteries is too funny. when the original battery died on me the car did a nice light show...worse part....i was at a gas pump....even worse part...cars in front of me and behind me....even worse part...it was the night of the giant blackout in 2003....the station was jammed it took a lot of time and a lot of swearing to get my car out of the way...and then getting a battery the next day was fun.

Hopefully it's just the battery. When my battery died (well, actually, when the DEALERSHIP killed my battery), my cluster didn't know what to do! Needles started going crazy. I've heard of other very wierd things happening to people with dead/dying batteries.

so....its not the battery.....grounds look good to me.....had the plugs off the pcm and used electrical connector cleaner on them.....the top part of the one plug is damaged but its just the part that covers where the wires go into the plug. there is a pic at the bottom of this post.

i did however come across something when looking around that i am sure glad i found, one of my lines for my tranny cooler was loose so it was pissing fluid all over the rad, the pcm and the tranny, it had made a mess. got that cleaned up ....washed the motor and after that i put my new battery in and disconnected the pcm and sprayed electrical connector cleaner on the pinns and into the plug. there was also no fluid in the connections for the pcm either, i was hoping that some tranny fluid had got in there and caused the problem,...but...after my second start up i got the cel again...same code...so....looks like i need a new one.

still dissapointed that i have this problem, but relieved i found the other
problem

here are some pics, looks like the connection has been broken for a while eh, and sorry about the other pics the camera was having trouble finding what it wanted to focus on
