part feeler
Im thinking of having a piece of aluminum machined to go between the gas pedal bracket and the firewall...to move the pedal out and mak it wasier to heel/toe drive. This Id assume would be more toward the autox individuals.
me and my car have a give and take relationship

Bingo!underway wrote:no i think he means, like make a spacer that will go behind the pedal where it connects to the firewall and move the pedal forward more and down or sumthin like that ...atleast thats my understanding
Im not too keen on the inch plus height differance between the gas and brake pedals.
I figure there should be enough slack in the throttle cable that I could raise the whole thing w/o any issuesthe ony thing I can see causing a problem would be over pressing the pedal and snapping the cable.

is there a way you can do a simple drawing of the details of what this will look like?
if you dont have someone to make it, i *might* be able to.

Thats great but it depends on the angle of the thottle arm and the material we make this out of.underway wrote:well i dunno wat it looks like down there but i would say just ad a lil tab hangin off the spacer that contacts the pedal arm at full throttle....simple

Im gonna say, with the equipment I have access too it would be too expensive for you to have me make it.
The good way to buy aluminum is in 12ft bars. The cost is much better per part to buy that much, but then you would need 40 people to want one and I would be a little surprised if 40 people here wanted one. I think it would be better off to put this on a CNC mill.
Now if my dad gets a CNC mill then Ill be glad to make em for you.
Guess I should go bug him to upgrade his equipment.

well you can do alot with simple metal...id go take a cruise round home depot and see wat they have b/c if i remember correctly theres a 1/4 inch steel washer in a square shape thats like 2 inches by 2 inches... im sure theres bigger ones drill identical holes in a couple of those and it should work..... i duno but i am guna go check it out now...im a budget racer and i love makin parts that cost alot out of cheap stuff like that ...hence my 10 dollar solid mounts i made out of a peice of square bar i got at lowes saved myself like 120 bucks or so if you cant make it for cheap tyhen you cant make....or atleast thats wat i say cus im poor.. lol
