hey has anyone else noticed a buzzing or humming coming from the pcm when the key is in the on position.

plugged in an extra pcm ....turned the key to the on position(was gonna leave it on for a while)....but heard this humming/buzzing sound, quite noticeable. so plugged my pcm in and it does the same thing.....just wondering if this is a normal thing, never noticed it before.

Buzzing? sure its not the starter? or maybe the fuel pump pressurizing the system? Never had that happen to me.

you are probably hearing the humming/buzzing noise from the fuel pump on the on position. it stays on for a few seconds. other than that, i didnt hear a humming/buzzing noise from my pcm.

yeah...with the hood open its coming from the pcm area......so...would really doubt its the other things

mine does that hum right before I start the engine... I always thought it was the feul pump.. I guess it could just be the drivers starting up too.. I can hear my hard drive in my computer spin up and then it goes quiet like....

ya dude im sure its the fuel pump... but sumone said the humming goes away...mine never does.....does this mean mines no good?

I get the same thing too with my '02. None of my other four neons did it though. It is definitly not the fuel pump. It almost sounds like a short circuit. I just ignore it.

its common for the pcm to buzz, some do it some dont...

I had the same thing happen in my 1gn, I couldnt tell you what it was tho.. So far I hasnt happened to my 2gn.

My 96 Neon used to have a high pitched whine when you shut it off. My 05, nothing.
