Alright so I'm pretty much so pissed that I'm shaking. I thought this would be a simple install, and take maybe 30 minutes tops. Well, now it's turned into an hour long battle (don't you love when something so easy goes so wrong...).

I was trying to install my brand new MPx 60mm TB when this happened...

It's hard to see, but I broke the head off of a screw installing the IAC. It wouldn't sit flush with the TB so I was tightening it as best I could to see if I could get it to sit tight like it did on the stock TB. I have no clue what to do at this point, I tried getting it out soo many ways.
Not only did I have problems with this but the stock screws for the TPS wouldn't go in at all so I wasn't about to force those in and break them. I also couldn't get the cruise control cable to fit in the black piece that the cruise control/throttle cable slide into...

Did anyone else have these problems installing theirs and what should I do at this point? I don't wanna call Modern and bug them because they always seem like your stealing precious time away from them on the phone, but I'm at a loss at what to do...

Honestly mine fit flush without any problems

I'm not sure how small the holes are for the bolt but my reccomendation is to try to drill it out. I had to do that when the head off of one of my exhaust bolts broke off as well. I drilled it out, retapped and started over...very slowly. That would be where I'd start. Good luck buddy and keep us up dated.

^^^ thats probably the best way to go about it. the screw might be big enough for a screw extractor.

but you will probably have to tap it bigger and go with a bigger screw.

The OEM tps mounting screws and the MPx TB both have different threads. You will NOT be able to reuse your OE TPS mounting screws!!!
As for the broken screw, try to get something in there to back off the broken part to remove it, then goto the hardware store to get some new parts....

I took the throttle body to an automotive shop and they drilled and tapped the IAC threads for me. yeah, i wasn't able to use any of my OEM screws...i had to go to home depot and fish through different sized screws and such to find one that would work...now I've got the TPS screws and IAC screws but now I don't have the right size cable bracket bolts which is upsetting...i also can't get the cruise control cable to fit in the tiny grooved slot....any advice on what to do about that?

they sell kits at local hardware stores to remove bolts that have the heads broken off. i had to use it when the motor mount bolts snapped in half on my srt motor....

Alrighty, so I got the throttle body in...love the throttle response, made the motor sound throatier, all around awesome mod...I'm having a problem with hanging RPM's now though...the RPM's seem to stick at 1,500 RPM's with the clutch in and then slide back down to around 7/800 like normal...I haven't tried adjusting the amount that the throttle plate sits open, so I'll try that, but i figured maybe you guys who have them installed might have had this problem and could offer some help...

Double check for vacuum leaks, the 65mm im running did the same exact thing until I tightened a hose on my oil seperator. Even the smallest leak will cause the idle to hang that high until you come to a complete stop. For the heck of it, throw some gasket sealer on the rubber seal that seals the IAC motor, that could be an area of conern too...

I had a sticky throttle plate, what I did was just adjust the idle screw, and it works beautiful now.
