Well if you have a cold air on ? I will buy it off you as I need one :) The stock isnt bad if you have a good filter in.
But if you have a good intake on why take it off its all up to you.

I run a stock box and K and N filter and like it A LOT more than my K and N Typhoon I had...

The only downfall is I hear you cannot run and upgraded TB.

Yeah.. :withstupid:

though Dodge made a descent intake... the aftermarket ones are "suppose" to be an improvement (i believe they are a small improvement)... that and they look cool too. :)

Actually you can run the mpx tb on stock air box - thing is about CAI is I would happen to guess that it is personal taste. Dodge made it very similar to a CAI if you take a look at the way it is set up - there is a resonator type box in the fenderwell were the CAI filter would be, safer than running a CAI, and sound is quieter - but then why would AEM's website shown a 6 hp/7 tq increase over stock on an 01 RT? I would say that the air flow is increased, smoother, and colder.

I have found that the CAI alone didn't do much by itself. It wasn't until combined with the header, exhaust and TB that any response became apparent, and even then we're not talking rocketship acceleration here. So if you plan on doing other upgrades keep it in, it weighs less, easier to install the TB to it if you were to get one, and cleans up the look of the engine bay. If not then the stock unit and a good filter will be just fine.

And keep the smoked markers, orange looks odd on a silver car!

Leave the intake in. I don't know about anybody else but I did notice a little bit of a power gain with mine when I had it and my gas mileage was noticeably better. Leave your side markers the way they are.

i say if there is any hp gain from going from stock to an aftermarket intake .. most of that is gained by the removal of the silencer/resonator in the fender area (can be removed with stock airbox) ... and a free-er flowing airfilter (can be used with stock airbox) ...

i went from stock air box to cheap eBay intake to AEM intake to 60 mm TB and then back to stock... i'm actually thinking about just bringing down a tube from the fender to the bumper and making it a ram-air type :D

i had a ram air setup on my 00 neon about 2 years ago... It didnt help all that much, on the highway you felt a little more umph tho. It was a 3" that stuck out from under the bumper, came up into the fender, through the filter and then into the throttle body.

to me its too much of a pain in the butt to put stock parts back on unless necessary.
