I travel a lot on the highways and it is certainly possible to get at least 32mpg all depending on the driving conditions. I save a whole lot more gas on the following conditions:

1. Cold weather (engines perform better w/ less hotter air).
2. Controlled throttle response (it's boring to go at a constant rate of speed but it works).
3. Let gravity do the rest downhill.
4. Speed control. During slow traffic, I try to "coast" and keep distance with a car in front of me. Energy gets wasted a lot with stop and go traffic.
5. Properly inflated tires, new spark plugs/wires, etc.
6. AC/Heater? Fuhgedaboutit.

Mind you that these are 85% highway driving.

Racer12306, I'm "f----ed up in the head" too since I do drive like a robot. :tardbang:

I can tell you that I probably average 20/25 when I'm just driving normally. But when it comes to me and my friends....balls to the wall 12/16 if I'm lucky. I spit more flames than the guy that just ate the 4 alarm spicy chicken sandwich.

I miss my neon at times. She treated me well and taught me a lot about cars in general. I will always have a special place in my heart for these cars. Heres to the 2gn community.
