its almost like a groaning sound, similar to a quiet dirt bike or atv? its hard to describe, i was hoping someone had the same problem at one time. at times that side of the car gives off a hollow sound on a slightly bumpy road, maybe like a suspension problem? I dunno i asked the mechanic about it when i replaced the timing belt a while back and he suggested it could be the tire, but i dunno. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Could be a tire - what kind of wheels and tires do you have? Also, what is the tread wear like? If you have a tire depth gauge messure from the inside to the middle to the outside and compare, if you have uneven wear, you could need an alignment or just a balance. Sounds to me like tire noise which could have been caused by the above.

a hollow sound on a bumpy road cna also be a strut .. have heard that sound before many a time

i would check out the pass tire, bushings, alignment strut .. etc ... while in there check the C/V joints as well as ball joints.

It's that racoon you hit a few miles back!

Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of the car. Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you're going when you hit the wall, and torque is how far you drag the wall with you.

anyone know how much labor it would be to get them replaced? the haynes says not to replace them yourself due to tools needed.
