I was just wondering if a 2gn valve cover will work on a 1gn car. I have an extra Mancini valve cover and want to put it on my 96 but I dont know if the pcv valve for the 2gn will effect emissions at all. Just wondering if anyone has the answer. Thanx in Advance

Yes, you can swich the 2.0l valve covers back and forth.

Just a tip though, the 1st gen is designed better.

Another tip make sure you get VC gaskets for the VC you're using.
So if you're putting on a 2gn VC make sure you get gaskets for a 2gn VC. I learned that the hard way.

thanks for the quick responses. Yeah I know that the 1gn is made better but I would rather have a pretty metal one then an ugly plastic one and I hate how the pcv valve just sits inbetween two hoses way down underneath the intake manifold. I can always use a catch can for the oil problem. I just figured ......why not since it is just sittin in my closet doing nothing

I switched to a 1gn so I could have a metal to get powdercoated. As far as I know the one from my 2gn is plastic, am I wrong?

I've never heard of a plastic valve cover on a 1st gen. The 2nd gen valve covers are plastic except for the Magnum motors. They all had metal.

w3rd, 1gn valve covers are metal, all non-magnum engine 2gn valve covers are plastique!

Oh well I never messed with my 1gn but I have a powder coated 2gn on my Magnum 02 R/T and I also have an extra 2gn powder coated valve cover and that is the reason why I wanted to know. I could spruse up my 96 a little in the engine bay.
