Question about screws that come with lip kit. Pics inside

Post by danman132x » Wed May 02, 2007 3:52 pm

I have a question about the screws that come with the lip kit. Basically in the picture
Image
it shows in the instructions to put a bottom and top nut together, but not all the way to the bottom of the bolt thing. I figured that i I put it all the way down,
Image
it would not have enough room to tigthen once the lip is put on. The lip itself is about 1/4 inch thich which would prevent the top nut from tightening.
Image
Pic above- with lip kit in place, how are you supposed to tighten that bolt without it falling off? Would it be fine without th bottom nut, or does this make it flush?

Misc pics. Install in two-three days

I just used one nut. First I wiped the bumper with the alcohol, then I screwed the shorter side into the lip, then mounted the lip onto the bumper and started to thread the nuts on, then pulled the tape with needle nosed pliers, and finally tightened all the way.

yeah, I just did this! The instructions tell you to do that in order to screw the stud into the lip. No nuts go on the lip side of the stud!:banghead: You must take the nuts off and push the studs through the holes you drilled into the facia. Then use 1 nut to secure the lip to the facia. Count the nuts, there are 1 for each stud! I actually just hand tightened most of mine into the lips, and the stubborn ones , I used some pliers on the non-threaded tips to screw them in.
