Current draw??? of car

Ok i am looking to find out what the current draw of our cars is i searched here and google but couldnt find it. How many amps is it.

The reason is I am wondering is because i would like to know how big of an alternator to get. I have to viair 380 compressors, 2 amps and alot of lighting..so i wanna know what to get.

IIRC early 2gn alts were 85A, they were upsized a bit later, somthing like 100A or so.

oh ya i know that one. But does the car actaully pull 80 amps. My question is how many amps does the car draw to just run the car. Is it really 80 amps. I konw the alternator puts out 80 but if the car only needs say 50 amps to run the car then my compressor draws 17 so i wont need a higher amp alt. So my question is how many amps does the car draw to just simply run the car and the basic accesories(ie. regular radio, regular speakers, headlights, ect.)

Have to remember, an 80A alt doesn't produce 80A all the time, it's a fraction at idle.
