Alarm Remote?

Post by Arro » Thu May 10, 2007 9:31 pm

I see a few alarm remotes for "00-03 neon". My Neon doesn't have a remote, but then again it might have (I am not the first owner), but it does have that security key thing and the alarm does go off if you lift the hood or try to open a locked door when locks are engaged.

Was a remote typically included, and can I buy one of these and somehow get it programmed for my car? Or are these cars remoteless from factory?

Edit: They list the part number as 047795008 AF.

Second Edit: Here's a link to one of the auctions:

check the part number with your dealer to make sure it is actually for your car. most newer dodge keyless entry fobs look identical, so ebay might not be the best place to look for one. I could be mistaken, but i think you have to have at least 1 fob to program another one to your car. I'm sure someone with more knowledge will correct me if i'm wrong.

Edit: in the how-to forum, there is a sticky on key-fob programming. it says that one transmitter is required to program additional ones. there might be more info there, but since i have 2 working fobs, I'll leave it to you to find out.
