i leave for a long road trip, some 2500 miles round trip, and i am in the process of checking my car out, making sure she is ready. so far i have:

1. checked all hoses, belts, and fluids
2. new brakes. it needed it bad.
3. wiper blades
4. spare is filled with air, got jack and tire iron
5. plugs were replaced last fall, have less than 5K on them
6. all fuses replaced 2 months ago when trying to figure out a lighting issue. whole box of spares too.

i need to know what else i should check. the car has 32K miles, mostly highway miles. i am going to do an oil change just before i leave, and as soon as i get back. am i missing anything?? any body had problems on a wrong drive and wish they had remembered something?? thanks in advance!!

Tire pressure is always good but you probably just forgot to list that you did that one.
Have fun and take plenty of pics.

Make sure you have FUSES, a variety of them. Otherwise sounds like you've been thorough.

yeah tire pressure is good. i have a box of spare fuses. i guess about 12 of every size. and i picked up a new camera, so i will finally get some shot of the car in front of something other than my driveway lol.

tires are good, and i already listed most of that other stuff. the thermostat is a good idea though. the car only has around 32,000 miles, and runs ice cold.
