P0420 code solved

Post by alsey_seven » Tue Jun 05, 2007 6:21 pm

OK i've had this code in my car. and finally was able to get rid of it/ i mean fixed it. Some say its the cat/converter broke . which is wrong i had to replace my intake manifold gasket . The far left one was all old and busted air was being sucked into the manifold causing it to add more air and fucked up the burn. casuing it to give me the code. When i replaced it ran the car. The cell PO420 was gone without erasing the code.

So if anyone has PO420 please check the intake manifold gaskets.

ok buy your self somebrake cleaner, and spray where the instake manifold goes into the engine block. make sure the engine is on. if the engine shutters when your spray brake cleaner then you have bad gaskets i will post a video showing what we did.
