does the alternator wrap around the bigger part of the crank pulley or the smaller part?

Whichever side is the same size as the pulley groove on the alternator?

To make life easier, if you're referring to the alternator BELT, it goes from the alternator pulley to the innermost set of grooves on the UDP. In other words the set of grooves that are right next to the block. The outermost grooves are for the power steering. Hope that clarifies things up a bit.
