Are the bolts on the headers studs or are they pressed in? Or are they normal bolts that are just stuck in there really tight over time?

Im talking about where the manifold flanges into the cat.

They are pressed in.

what would be the best way to take out the bottom one? And to replace.

heat it with a torch and impact it off, or burn it out and replace with nut and bolt.

Do you have the nut off or are yuo just trying to replace the stud? I had to hacksaw the nut off mine then took a hammer and tapped the stud out and replaced it. It looks like a normal cap screw till you pound it out then you'll see the end with the hex head is serrated. Makes life much easier putting back together with the proper bolt in there!

yea the header is still on the car so i dont have much room to work with, I am trying to replace the cat. All the others came off fine, but the bottom wouldn't. So i cut it with a die grinder type thing, and now i have the cat off, but i need to get that bolt on the bottom fixed.

So i can just pound it out?

You can try heating the metal around the bolt (the flange on the header), but not the bolt itself. Then when the outer gets nice and hot hammer on the bolt to back it out. That may work if it's not that tight of a fit. I've never had to do this on any of my headers, but may be worth a try if you have a torch handy.

Yep, basically what 03blackrt and I said. Heating probably would make it easier but mine came uot without it. If the nuts have alot of miles like mine did there isn't much left of them. Adding to the difficulty is the bottom one has the brace so the nut is the flange type that digs in to keep it tight. so if its newer/low miles crawl under there remove and antisieze and save a headache later!
