Ok, I already checked fuses, relay, wiring, everything I possibly can, except for right between the airbag and cover... so I guess my question is... how can I get to the contacts to check if they are ok? Any suggestions??
Thanks.

Try checking the connector behind the airbag to make sure the circuit isnt open before the ground/contacts. Other than that, id have to look at the wiring diagram because im not too sure. Maybe the horn is just plain worn out, or perhaps it injested a large bug and shorted out.

Well, I know it is not the horn itself, because the horn beeps when I arm the alarm... it is the actual part somewhere behind the steering wheel cover... slowly over time it went out, because when I get pissed while driving, I beat my horn

there is prolly some type of copper plate that connects to the horn ive seen them pretty beat up (brother gets pretty angry sometimes) and they get bent and cannot contact the horn switch.... its more like a copper ring they make it that way so you can turn the steering wheel, if you want just for shits and giggles try honking the horn while turning the steering wheel if that does not work id open it up and see whats going on in there might be the pad itself that went bad from beating it like a redheaded stepchild................when the lady in an expedition cuts in front of you

Now the stupid thing works again, today I was driving and after I got my brakes changed, some lady starts drifiting into the oncoming traffic, and suddenly swerves and comes to a complete halt right in front of me, good thing I was paying attention, and I hit the steering wheel out of habit, and "BEEP" it worked

So I dunno, maybe I will just take it apart again

Stupid horn

As another topic is already going through this problem...
Its probably your clockspring going bad....
First the Horn goes
Second the cruise stops working and at this point the airbag light will start to come on...

I do not have cruise control.
And yeah, I already saw that topic, his was different, and I did not want to threadjack.
How does the clockspring work with the horn? And does anyone know how to look between airbag and cover, or is it not possible? Is the contacts for the horn on the exposed side of airbag???

contacts for the horn on the exposed side of airbag
No, the contacts for the horn are located in the horn pad and there is no way of cleaning them or bandaiding them to help you out....
The clockspring is setup with spring loaded contacts that allow an electrical connection on a circular rotating disc type setup...its hard to explain, but the best way is imagine a bicycle with the GYRO setp that allows you to spin the front fork in circles without binding up any brake cables, thats basically the same idea except it uses electrical Vs cables...hopefully that helpsyou...

My horn does the exact same thing. Yesterday I hit it and it worked perfect and it Hasnt worked all day. Its weird I hit it all the time now just to see if it will work....
