I call around to get one and there telling my part number off of my ECM is not in the system. can anyone tell me if it has been revised and does anyone have a new number that is changeable with mine?? :banghead:
Here is my number

P05033080AB

Thanks for your help in advance

Well I got another one !!!!! Found one that was in a running car and it has the exact same part number as mine. Got it for $85.00 shipped to my house. Thats alot better than $706.00 from the dealer. Now I just have to have it reflashed with my vin number and I will be good to go..

If you don't have sentry, then I don't think you need to have it flashed.

I'd defanitely try putting it in and turning the key before going to the dealership.

Yea i was told it should crank but when i take it to get it inspected through DMV , If it has not been reflashed the inspection machine will read the old vin number.

^^
Exactly...
Since it is not a sentry system, the only way to get the vin changed is to send the pcm out to FlightSystems to have them reprogram it. The dealer can only change sentry system vins and not non-sentry....

MMMM. The guy at the local dealership told me he COULD reflash it with no problem. God I hope I do not have to pull it back out and send it off and wait and then reinstall it .. Are you sure that they can not do it...
And by the way.. It runs perfect now with no check engine light on :)..

I think that's why he'd like to know how yours can do it when his can't.

^^^
Exactly....
A NEW pcm (Non-Semtry) allows the DRB to change the vin, once the vin is programmed, its is burned to a rom chip inside the pcm. Once its done, it can not be changed, only people with special equipment(flightsystems) can access the rom and change it.
A sentry pcm is a different story.....
Now you can convert a non sentry pcm to a sentry and change the vin that way(ive done it) but once its converted, you cant convert back(ive tried).....

PS - yes i work for dcx.....

OK. I talked to the local Dealership and Flightsystems automotive today and I found out some info on the reflashing. 2003 and up is the only ones that can be reflashed. My 2001 does not keep the vin number inside the ECM. so it can not be reflashed with the correct vin number. I took it to my inspection guy and everything went perfect passed inspection and also has the correct vin number on the slip...
Thanks for everyones help on this..

Thats funny....Ive reflashed several 00/01 pcm's with my vin(sentry) and the pcm retains the vin number

I called Flightsystems and then they told me i needed flightsystems automotive.. When i called, the guy i spoke with said they could not do anything on a 2002 and under neon. Maybe he fixed yours because he knows you , but more or less he said i was screwed. But thank god eveerything worked OK for me. Now my check engine light is off and it passed inspection and heck it even runs better and has a better throttle response.. Thanks so much for all of your info. I greatly appreciate it..
