starting problems

My '01 R/T doesn't want to start all the time. It will turn over but seems to not be getting spark. I just bought it a couple of weeks ago and the previous owner said he just changed the coil, wires, and plugs. If I wait a couple minutes and go unhook the wires then hook them back up it will start fine. The car also has a Crane #14 cam and AEM cam gear. Think it might be the pcm? I've been told the 2nd gens are pretty sensitive or maybe cam sensor? Also not getting any cel codes. Thanks for any help and advice.

I made the same thread a few weeks ago. I same symptoms, try giving it a little gas, not to the floor, about halfway so that it will open the injectors more, I think mine is the fuel pump maybe the cam sensor, gonna try the cheaper one first. even more so hearing this, thanks for inadvertently helping me!

is this strictly a cold start or even when the car is warm? I've been told that cars may have trouble starting cold when there are modifications to the engine. mine takes a little convincing when cold, but after she is warm there is no problem.

Have you checked to make sure the timing is correct?

I haven't checked the timing but I think I may have found the problem, one of the clips that holds the connectors on the pcm is broken and it comes loose. I held it in place when it wouldn't start and it fired right up.
