Rainy weather

Due to the random downpour here, combined with the worst drain system ever, I was driving and ended up have to go through a deep puddle. The car sputtered and I turned it off. I moved the car as far as I could out the puddle and started it again. It was very rough at first but settled down a bit. What should I do before I turn it on to go to work tomorrow so that I make sure everything is working properly.
