Not sure why you would be losing a/c above 2k rpm. I've read that some newer cars shut off power to the a/c clutch @ wot but not sure if this applies to Neons. If it does possibly your tps is not sending the correct signal or your pcm is killing power to the a/c relay prematurely. You could tap into the connector for the a/c clutch and hook a light to it to see when power is sent. if the light stays on/cycles above 2k rpm then possibly your belt is slipping. the positve wire should be a dark blue with black stripe.
You didn't get ant check engine light with the cat. core removed?

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.

my apologies gentlemen (and ladies), i didn't mean the ac completly quit - blower was still going, just pushing nice hot air. again my apologies for the misunderstanding (ya know, my lack of ability clearly state my problem.
dppreciate all the help i'm getting here.
drove her on a route today, about 200+miles in the alabama heat. only shut her down to gas up or take a nature break - she ran warm - but never got into the red - except when i restart her after turning off - gauge still jumps to red but revving engine once or twice it goest back to normal. never lost frigid-cold air from the ac either?!?!?!?!?!??!?

WTF????
The saga of my overheating continued until one day the trans died. Had it towed to a transmission shop and it needed a rebuild. so 1500 bucks later, get the car back, it has not gone above normal operating temp since. IT WAS THE DAMN TRANS THE WHOLE TIME!!!

A seperate trans. cooler w/t'stat never hurts. although if you don't have cold winters a t'stat may not be necessary. My trans in my Cherokee was overheating due to the coolant flowing to the cold side when the engine t'stat was closed. the hot coolant backs up due to nowhere else to go. The trans lines were getting extremely hot just sitting @ idle.
