Mystery Connector

Hey all, I tried searching but came up empty handed.

Anyways, I have a connector on the back of my head right by the coolant overflow bottle that isnt plugged into anything. I looked on my buddys ACR and he has the same thing but it is connected to a little black box 1" x 1" that goes into the back of the head. Mine does not have this.

Does anyone know what this plug is for? Is it important?

Thanks for help in advance.

By head do you mean firewall? Because thats where the overflow reservoir is located. :?:

Yes, but the connector is supposed to be going in to the head. I'll get a picture of it later today.

Yea, get a pic. There are no connectors over there besides maybe cruise control and A/C conectors. Id guess your friends car is used, or been worked on by other people, and it was one of these connectors, that someone just stuck by the head.

oooh, makes more sense if its closer to the master cylinder, than the overflow tank. A little box, sounds like the noise supressor. Has a green wire with an orange tracer? If its missing it really isnt a big deal, but if you can pocket one from a junkyard or something, I probably would. It cleans up the engine electrical from the injectors, and *may* make the radio sound a little cleaner, though i havent experienced that. If youres is missing though, Id look over the rest of the car, and make sure everything is as it should be. Sounds like someone worked on your car, without paying attention or careing about what they were doing.

Yeah it was called Colonial Dodge in Eastpointe, MI! They left my header loose, my battery hold-down missing, my motor mount bracket flipped backwards. Needless to say, I AM NEVER TAKING IT THERE AGAIN!

Also, they cracked my headlight!

Yesterday the dealer called w/ one of their "courtesy calls" to see how my car was doing, and I told them all of the problems with it. The lady on the phone said "Well do you have any proof that our dealership did those things?" I said "not hard proof, but I know I didnt buy it from here like this!" Then she goes "Well our Service Manager isnt here right now so you'll have to call back tomorrow."----stupid bitch

dont call, go in and talk to the service manager. when i had my axles fixed for like the 30th time the tech broke my iceman batterytray hold down strap and fixed it with a zip tie, i took it in and explained i dont do ghetto repairs like this and i even pointed out the extra zipties resting on the fender. he preceded to argue with me but then noticed on the tech paperwork that he noted he broke the strap, but never fixed it or told me. so they were like where can we get that strap? and im like order me the mopar CAI and it comes with the CAI and you can keep the rest of it. they didnt like that idea when they saw the price of $200~. so they went out and got a universal hold down and installed it. talk to the service manager its ultimately his call as what they will do, and explain to them your an enthusiast and you can easily spread the word of their shoddy work around the community. it worked for me (somewhat)
