Any way to add the traction control module to an 03?

Post by danman132x » Thu Sep 13, 2007 6:29 pm

First, Dodge is cheap for taking away the traction control. I want to know if it is at all possible to add the traction control option to my 03 r/t if I find a car with it. Is there a special computer, or is it actually part of the PCM?

Just curious, why do you want it in the first place?

I've read in a few posts, it helps control wheel spin, and indirectly helps to not blow the differential pin. I'm thinking it could help at the track, but im more curious and probably would never end up doing it unless it was cost effective.

it would actually hurt your performance at the drag strip because it applies the brakes to control wheel spin. atleast when you spin you are able to get the engine up into its power band.

you would need to have abs, but other than that i don't know if it would be possible or not.

You don't need the trac control. More seat time will be more to your advantage than some computer controlled device/ mechanism.

The last statement sounds the most likely.

Traction control is nice for daily driving in the rainy season, especially if you aren't on all-season tires.

Unless you pour some Dawn dishsoap on a big empty parking lot and have some fun :D
