Wanting to buy tranny mount insert...

Post by danman132x » Thu Sep 27, 2007 6:26 pm

http://neongoodies.com/Goodies/PL2K_Tra ... sert.shtml

I really want to buy this insert for my tranny mount to help reduce wheelhop at the track. Does anyone know if this will fit an 03, like he claims it does?

One more thing...it seems like it would be a pain in the a** to install. Is it possible without dropping the entire engine?

EDIT_____
I did some searching and seen that Magnums will need modifications :( If I do get one, I might just have to hack it up a lil

Would it be possible to cut the extra piece off?
~or~
fill the mount with urethane while it's still in place on the motor?

What i did was just buy a mount used and filled it. I have zero wheel hop right now. You will see a big improvement.

Best way to do things right there. Used mounts are short money and doing it that way, the only time your car is tied up is the time it takes you to switch the mounts.

honestly i had to deal with this a few weeks ago. i would take the mount off or better yet buy my extra one. send it to bwoody and he'll fab a solid polyurethane mount for you for 140.00 shipped. the filled one i had failed. i have inserts now only b/c i had the dealer order a replacement for me when i couldn't source a used one. it was only after having the dealer order one that bwoody offered the custom fabbed mount or that's what i'd have done.

I thought the differance was not between Magnums and non-Magnums but rather 2000-2002's and 2003-2005's?

I still don't know why people go through Vitor when you can get them direct from PolyBushings for less. I believe they're the ones that make it anyway.

I found the poly bushings site and the mount inserts
http://polybushings.com/pages/1002.html
I might just cough up the $33 and see if they fit. If not, I'll make them fit

Thats true, Polybushings.com provides neongoodies with thier mounts.

http://polybushings.com/pages/moparmounts.html

My friend has an entire set of poly mounts for his 93 Shadow es. Only downside is they don't accept paypal... He got all his stuff quickly and it was all really well made. I'll be ordering a tranny mount in the next few days.. ill take some pics while i work incase i decide to make a how-to..
