It can, but if it's a MTX, it's more likely your TOB.

Brake torque it and have someone watch for EXCESS movement on the left side.

I think it's worth a look.
For some reason, when I put my tranmission insert, the thing clunked mad crazy, and it was deffinetely the transmission. Now I take you havent' done the insert lately but it's still worth a look.
Although that tranny mount is PRETTY damn good in comparison to the other engine mounts...so IDK. Besides getting a look at the mount is really tough business, so make sure you're ready to go down that route.
You really might as well by the insert if you're going to do it.
But I don't think that's the culprit.
Wow I just had a CONTRADICTORY conversation with myself.

that was pretty funny.
Is it making the rattling/clunking when you put it in drive and then go? It could be a bad mount. It's not too hard to get at to sheck it but you have to remove at least the battery tray and if you want a good look at it, you gotta take the air box out, too.

its a rattle/ clinking sound like something metal is loose. I'll put the car in drive and hear nothing but soon as i start to go you can hear it. car warms up and you can still hear it only when the engine pulls or should i say accelerate.. i can hear the sound in the cabin sound like its comming from the firewall as well as outside.

It's probably not the tranny mount then cuz you'd have all kinds of bucking when you put it in drive. if it's just like a clanking when youre driving, you should probably look in the nooks and crannies for loose odds and ends. You might check that dust cover on the back side of your rotors...that round metal plate. It might be loose.

Like i said, the tranny mount is one serious mother fucker, I wish I had taken a pic of it.
People say it's a weak link, but damn that mount is a lot tougher than the rest of them. Check around your engine bay....

That solid one is just a tad beefier than mine but it's the same mount. They're not as weak as people say they are. They have to hold the weight of the tranny as well as part of the engine AND engine torque so they ain't gonna tink, ding and rattle. One cracks, comes loose or the inside gets worn out and it's gonna buck and make a loud bang when you put it in D. It's the only mount on that side so whensomething goes wrong with it, everything get set off kilter.
